The United Nations international childrenβs emergency fund (UNICEF) has called on the government to ensure critical services catering for children are included in the national budget.
Speaking in an interview with One Love Radio news, UNICEF Social policy Specialist Miselo Bwalya noted that there has been an improvement in increasing social services for children post the debt restricting but however more needs to be done to protect children.
He called for critical interventions to be embedded for child services to address child poverty, health, education and sanitation for children.
Mr. Bwalya called for the targets and policies implemented for children in the 9th national development plan to translate into improvements for children.
He stated that the organisation will continue tracking if financing is being translated into tangible results for children.
