𝐌𝐖𝐈𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐀 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐓

Choma South Constituency Member of Parliament Trevor Mwiinde has proposed the introduction of a school production unit competition in the three constituencies of Choma District under the Trevor Mwiinde Sialunga Production Competition.

Mr Mwiinde said selected schools would establish production units, where learners would engage in practical food production, with support such as fencing wire and seedlings.

Speaking during Teachers’ Day commemorations at Adastra Primary and Secondary School on Monday afternoon, Mr Mwiinde said the production units would promote practical learning while supporting national efforts to strengthen food security.

Meanwhile, Choma District Education Standards Officer Owen Kashoti welcomed the proposal, saying it is in line with the Presidential Education Initiative being implemented at Siamambo Primary School and Macha Girls Secondary School.

Mr Kashoti noted that the initiative is transforming the two schools into centres of practical learning in agriculture, water management, entrepreneurship and food production.
