ICOZ CALLS FOR COMPRIHENSIVE INQUEST IN THE KILLING OF MUTOTWE KAFWAYA

The independent churches of Zambia ICOZ have called for a comprehensive inquest into the happenings that led to the death of former minister of transport honourable Mutotwe Kafwaya.

Speaking in an interview with One Love Radio, ICOZ president Bishop Doctor David Masupa says they are disappointed at the manner the matter was handled by the state security who did not reveal that he was killed while his family and loved ones kept looking for him.

Bishop Masupa has noted that a lot of controversy is surrounding his death and it is disappointing that such occurrences are taking place in a Christian nation.

He has reminded that elections are not war and should not lead to loss of lives further reminding the nation on the biblical teachings and the moral principles enshrined in the constitution.

β€œThe bible is very clear that murderers will not inherit the kingdom of heaven and the constitution guides on how every Zambian is supposed to conduct themselves not in this manner of killing people. He would have been captured like the others”. He spoke.

And Bishop Masupa has urged the clergy to restrain from aligning with political parties as they are to provide guidance to politicians and pray for the country.

He has noted that actively participating in politics is compromising the state and role of the church.

β€œWe have seen a renowned bishop was also arrested and said to be part of a militia, we are not saying it is true as there is no court hearing yet. We are however calling on the clergy to stop actively participating in politics as our role is to provide guidance to politicians and pray for the nation”. He observed.
