The united party for national development media director has urged the opposition National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity NRPUP to seek recourse at the constitutional court if they deem it fit regarding their allegations of rigging in the just ended presidential elections.
UPND Media Director Mark Simuuwe has advised that the opposition should take the right channels of resolving election related matters.
βThe NRPUP running mate Makebi Zulu is a lawyer and he should know that there is right way to doing these things and that is petitioning the election result in the constitutional like we did in 2016β. He stated.
Mr. Simuuwe has also stated that the UPND party will also write to regional and international bodies as EU, SADC and AU election observation mission on the findings by the security wings regarding the arrests of some members of the opposition.
βWe have heard that the security wings have arrested some members of the opposition who were found with dangerous weapons. President Hakainde Hichilema had earlier mentioned that the opposition sent some of their members in Russia to train as militias and some stated that they are willing to kill in this election. We appeal to the regional and international bodies to be neutral and honest in their findings.β He challenged.
He has further alleged the media and the church to be neutral in the manner they handle matters.
