The Opposition Leadership Movement in Southern Province has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ to improve the training of polling staff following 126,569 rejected ballot papers from 5,028,616 total votes cast during the August 13, 2026 General Election.
Speaking to One Love Radio News, Leadership Movement Southern Province Youth Chairperson Chrispine Mweembela said the figure raises concern over the preparedness of some polling staff to guide voters on the correct voting procedures.
Mr Mweembela also questioned the recruitment of some polling staff, alleging that some individuals who participated in political campaigns were later engaged as polling staff.

He has since called on the ECZ to strengthen the recruitment, screening and training of polling staff and begin early preparations for the 2031 General Election.
